How to remove location data from photos
Photos can reveal where they were taken. Here's how to strip GPS before sharing.
Most iPhone photos store GPS coordinates, the date and the device model inside the file (EXIF metadata).
On iPhone
When sharing from Photos, tap Options at the top of the share sheet and turn off Location.
In your browser
Use our free photo metadata remover. It shows what's inside a photo and saves a clean copy. Nothing is uploaded.
Prevent it
Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera → Never.
